Shop Update: Finishing Touches

1940s faux pearl necklace with original silk-lined presentation box

Sometimes outfits are all about finding the right finishing touch... whether that's a printed silk scarf or a pretty vintage necklace. So that's why I've been busy stocking up the accessories section of Elly Maggy Vintage.

From a seventies statement piece to forties faux pearls, this latest shop update has something for everyone. And for me, it's the brilliant Vera Neumann scarf. If you're a fan too, be sure to stay tuned for some special Vera-related blog posts in the near future!

Shop vacation!

Just stopping by to let you know that Elly Maggy Vintage is having a wee autumn vacation... The Etsy shop will be back on 1st November with some sweet new pieces, including pretty 40s knitwear and some super special 1920s - 1930s dresses.

Just listed

It has been a horrible day here weather-wise. The wind has been tossing around the beech trees, throwing birds out of branches, and a torrential rainstorm has been rattling the windows. As a result, I've spent a lazy Sunday afternoon indoors but I have managed to get up a new listing in the shop. I took the pictures two weeks ago (when the sun was shining!) but I've been sitting on them since then. Finally they're up online!

Look at that capelet!

It deserves a close-up!
...and another one!
And so does the hip pocket with its lovely pleats!
Here's the dress in action
Take a little look in the shop for all the details. I made a reconnaisance trip to town for new pieces yesterday and managed to see a few nice bits and bobs. I usually buy things straightaway for the Etsy shop but I was in a rush so I'll be going back tomorrow with fingers crossed that they're all still there! The update might be a little way off as I'll be away for work at the end of the week for a few days (so any items bought on Thursday-Friday will be shipped after the weekend) but I have some good news to post before then so keep your eyes peeled!

Prints - part II

As well as some pretty printed clothes, I have also just added some sweet brightly-coloured accessories to the shop. These first two - both in unused condition - are perfect preparation for rainy autumn and winter colds.

1960s NOS Irish linen ladies handkerchiefs
And I've also added two tea towels to the homewares / linens section.  I generally prefer to concentrate on clothing for the shop but sometimes bits and bobs for the home catch my eye! I hope there's something you like in the latest update. Take a look in the shop for all the details.

Prints - part I

After a little shop haitus, I've been very busy getting new listings up over the past few days. So busy, in fact, that I'm going to split the latest update over two posts. The new pieces range from the 60s to the early 80s and have one thing in common: big, bold prints.

The cloche below is really sweet and in perfect nick. I've been pretty lucky with finding clothes for the shop recently.

This last dress is one of my favourite finds. I was in a hurry and gave myself a few minutes to duck into one of the shops I regularly visit. I was skimming through the jam-packed dresses rail and about to give up when I spotted its lovely cherry print. I pulled it off the rack and was really taken with its maxi length and butterfly sleeves. Take a look in the shop for all the details.
